Workshop groups at the camp

There's five workshop groups at the camp: beginner course, improver, intermediate, advanced and double role group. Please see the Levels page to find out which group suits you the best.
At registration you can choose which group's workshops you will participate. Registering to the camp is done with a partner - all participants register individually, but please fill in your partner´s name in the registering form.
NOTE! An exception to this is the double role group, which does not require a partner for registration.

At the workshops there is a strong recommendation for partner rotation on teachers' lead. One of the carrying ideas of the camp is to foster new acquaintances: it's easier to go dancing in a milonga with someone you have already met. Of course, it's perfectly OK to participate in the workshops only with your own partner.
Beginners´course
A full beginners´ course will be held at the camp on Saturday and Sunday, for those participants who are just starting out, and for those who want to refresh and strengthen their basics. The course consists of five 75 minute lessons, the teachers are Seita Keloluoto ja Ari Sirén.
Additionally, the course includes an introductory lesson on the basic dancing and conduct in milongas - this lesson is held just before the Saturday evening grand milonga. After this lesson, you´ll be ready for your first dance-party, dancing tango, vals and milonga all night! All camp milongas are included in the course price.
Improver, Intermediate and Advanced Levels
Each of these groups will have one 60-minute lesson on Friday, and two 75-minute lessons per day on Saturday and Sunday. The class schedule is published on the "Program" - page. Note - some changes to the program are possible, closer to the camp.
These groups are taught by Sofia Victoria Mira & Fernando Waisberg, Nina Krook & Michalis Georgopoulos and Carina Quiroga & Arttu Artkoski.
Each couple will teach each level group for 1 to 2 lessons, depending on rotation. Lesson themes will be planned with topic balance in mind. The lesson topics will be published closer to the event.
Double-role group
In addition to the traditional level groups, we will have a Double-role group at the camp. This group is taught by Heini Soutamo-Kohlrausch ja Saana Kalliokoski.
The Double-role group´s idea is to bring together people interested in learning both roles, as well as improve and widen their undestanding of the dance. Some of us have more experience with leading, some with following - in these classes we can all share our experience and help eachother learn. Roles and partners are rotated actively, and teaching advances according to the student´s skill level.
Registering for this group DOES NOT require a partner, you are free to register on your own!
