Carina (AR/FI) and Arttu (FI) are long-standing dancers and teachers of Argentine tango. Arttu is also a tango DJ and Carina has experience in contemporary dance and body dramaturgy.
"We use technique as a tool for freedom of body expression."
They use and teach a technique based on the body´s natural movements, which gives everyone the opportunity to develop their own dance and express themselves freely, and also creates space for couple dancing. In their teaching they also use changing roles to expand the understanding of dance and the challenges of both roles.
Their teaching is nourished by the elements of new tango, tango salon, canyenge and stage tango. Their dance is a delicious combination of traditional Argentinian tango and new style.
They also perform and teach Argentine folk dances.

Heini-Elina & Saana

Heini-Elina Soutamo Kohlrausch
"I started tango argentino in Tampere in 1997. It was love at first hearing. My trip to the double role world began in 1999, when I started teaching tango in dance club Spiral together with Maija Matikainen and Pertti Wessman all the way up to 2005. I was there organizing the first summer tango camps and teaching the beginner’s course so it was nice to get back to the roots.
After moving to Germany I continued teaching tango and developing the local tango community. In the process I started also playing and organizing a local milonga near Münich in 2007. From Germany my trip continued to Andalusia in Spain, where I have been teaching since 2014 ja hosting a local milonga. Some years later I ran into a Belgian organizer of Totally in Tango - events. We are now their Spanish partner and also organize double role events in Andalusia together with them.
In tango and in teaching it, it’s important for me to find the connection with the music and with the partner. The aim is to find the natural movement and trust in the wisdom of one’s body and to open up in hearing the music and the partner. To let the energy flow between partners and to create a conversation where the leader and the follower are transformed into two equal dancers in a shared movement."
Saana Kalliokoski
Saana Kalliokoski has actively danced tango since 2011, for the last 10 years dancing both roles. Saana is still honing her skills by practicing continuosly with many different partners, and by participating in international two-role events. Saana has taught two-role groups in both, Helsinki and Tampere.
.
Characteristic to Saana´s lessons is to attempt to create a safe and accepting environment, as well as a curious and exploring attitude. As a teacher, Saana is clear, objective driven and playful. In dancing, she emphasizes presence, forming a connection to the dance partner, and a flowing, natural movement. In addition, she emphasizes the understanding of tango structure, technique and music to create a pleasant and inspiring dance experience.
In addition to Argentinian Tango, Saana is vastly experienced in other dances, both as a dancer and a teacher. Saana is a graduate of the 3 year professional Alexander-technique teacher training, a MA of social science and a physiotherapist.
